Sunshine Coast Board & Train

PLEASE NOTE: Your dog must be crate trained to be eligible.

With our board & train program, we do the hardest work for you! Your dog stays in our Sunshine Coast home and gets daily training, exercise, socialisation, and love as part of my family. This is NOT a boot camp. It's a longer term, gradual transformational experience with a minimum duration of 4 weeks. The program includes private lessons with you before, during, and after the board & train.

PLEASE NOTE: Only available to SE QLD residents due to the number of in-person meetings required over a 2-4 month period. Additionally, for your dog's safety and comfort, they must be crate trained prior to arrival. 

This is a game-changer for dogs with issues such as reactivity, fearfulness, and anxiety. We also train basic obedience and love energetic dogs who just don't listen sometimes! It can take many months (or years) of private lessons or classes to achieve a fraction of the results we can get with board & train.

Sometimes we get more than we bargained for when we get a dog. Let me make the learning curve much smoother for you! I train your dog in alignment with your skills, abilities, and personality.

Every dog and family is unique and requires a personalised training plan. I work with each owner to develop a plan that fits their specific needs and goals. Then I spend a number of weeks training the dog. Average time is 4-6 weeks (4 weeks minimum).

If you enjoy training, but you've spent months or years taking your dog to group classes that haven't helped, our board & train program is definitely for you!

Learning happens quicker and lasts longer when your dog is feeling understood, happy, and safe. Rather than forcing your dog to meet a rushed timeline of training goals in 1 or 2  weeks, we take the time to befriend and understand them. Many dogs are stressed during their first few days in a new environment, so we prioritise helping them feel at home before the demands of training begin.

We develop trust, communication, and motivation by playing games your dog loves. Then we use these skills to bring out the best in your dog, develop new habits, and fade away old unwanted habits! Our training approach is based on the world-renowned Training Without Conflict system. Our trainer Jessica is the only person in SE QLD who studies this highly successful system in person with its founder in the US.

A board & train program is only effective in the long term if the owners are able to understand and maintain the training. We have several catch-up sessions during your dog's stay with us, so that you can see your dog's progress and learn what you need in easy-to-digest short lessons.

After your dog returns home with you, we have as many follow-up lessons as you need to help smooth the transition. We will help you feel 100% confident in maintaining their new good behaviour!
